Producer (Wichita, Kansas)

KAKE, the ABC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas, has an opening for a news producer. We are a fast-paced newsroom that puts an emphasis on breaking news and weather coverage.

Duties and expectations
• Responsible for directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks, and structuring newscasts to fit within time parameters
• Respond to viewer inquiries and make regular "beat" calls to stay on top of the latest news developments
• Active participant in editorial meetings and take a leadership role in generating story ideas
• Must be active in social media and embrace producing content for multiple platforms
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and desire to win

Qualifications
• At least 1 year of television news experience preferred
• College degree in English, broadcast journalism or mass communications or equivalent experience
• Strong writing ability, outstanding organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in multitasking, and have a flexible work schedule
