Andy Hyland

Andy Hyland is the assistant director of strategic communications at the University of Kansas. Based in the Office of Public Affairs, he researches and prepares communications with the university community and the public and assists with messaging related to the university’s public image and brand.

Before coming to Lawrence, he worked in communications and public relations at KU Medical Center, where he highlighted advances in medical research. He has also worked as a newspaper reporter at The (Junction City, Kan.) Daily Union, The Kansas City Star and the Lawrence Journal-World.

Hyland is a KU alumnus, graduating in 2005 with bachelor's degrees in journalism and political science and in 2017 with a master's degree in integrated marketing communications from KU's Edwards Campus in Overland Park.
