OMFG is the response I had when I witnessed the new Gossip Girl ad campaign. It didn’t help that OMFG was the slogan, but it definitely made the impact bigger. The commercials for Gossip Girl include sex, profanity, and lots and lots of violations for the Parents Television Council.
Gossip Girl follows teen New York socialites. It shows drugs, alcohol, and obviously sex. I’m not sure what other advertising this show could use, but OMFG on primetime networks is NOT acceptable. I’m usually not offended either. I watch Nip/Tuck, so sex on television usually doesn’t bother me. My sisters watch The CW frequently, and they are too young to see OMFG.
Sex…Sex…Sex…Sex…Don’t rush…Sex...Sex…Sex is meaningful...Was it good?…Sex. That is the entire commercial! Hopefully the actors did not struggle memorizing those lines. Besides the words, we see cherries getting sucked a lot of sexual positions. Wow, that’s all I can say.
“Its borderline pornography,” Bryan Wilcox said.
The Parents Television Council rates Gossip Girl with a red stop light. “Language used includes “f’ing,” “crap,” “whore,” “ass,” “bitch,” “slut,” “screw,” “damn,” and “hell.” The PTC said.
“Gossip Girl is recommended for adults only.” The PTC said.

This is crazy! People are worried about Miley's back and here we have a show about sex, sex, sex and o wait, more sex.... I did some looking into MTV's reality programming and found similar content. Too risky and raunchy I think.
