Is this where technology is going

With new technology comes new ways of broadcasting information. Microsoft has developed a new coffee table that might just revolutionize the way people can get their information today. With more and more people viewing TV shows and movies on their computers this new technology might be a hit... But

Is this technology really necessary. Some people don't believe so and they provide many good points as to why they think so. Why would I need to mapquest something on my coffee table. Is that really necessary. Couldn't I just do that in my phone or on a portable mapping system. If someone could afford to spend around $10,000 for a coffee table I would assume that their phone would be capable of getting directions to where they needed to go.

New technology provides excitement and it is neat to think about but sometimes these things prove to be a little excessive. This might be one of those cases.
