So I was watching TV and came across a commercial for Extra "the 5 calorie snack." I thought it was kinda humorous. Since when did gum become a snack? I have heard things about how gum can help control cravings. I just thought the commercial was kinda humorous in the fact that they are trying to market gum as a snack. I know when I am hungry I probably am reaching for something else besides GUM!

I agree, I have seen the same commercial and have had the same thoughts. Gum is definitely not a snack, it's more of something to keep your mouth busy so that you are not wanting to snack. I think that that is what they were trying to get across, that gum can be chewed if you feel like having a snack but you aren't actually hungry, you just want to snack for the sake of snacking. Because in that case, gum is a good alternative.
