I just recently read an article about how Miley Cyrus did a photo shoot with Vanity Fair, and one of the photos she chose is actually quite scandalous (it is a picture of her satin bed sheet, looking over her shoulder with her back exposed.). Miley claims that she didn't realize how the picture would turn out and regrets taking it and choosing it for the spread. Her "people" say that she was manipulated into taking these photos by photographer Annie Leibovitz.
Leibovitz says "I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted. Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."
I think that Miley probably should have been more careful when doing this photo shoot, because if the pictures are in fact more adult that things she has previously done, it will probably cause an uprising among the parents of the young children who watch her show. Miley is a huge role model for many young girls, and I can really see this blowing up in her face. She probably should have waited until she was a little older and the Hannah Montana phase is over with to do something like this.

While her best friend Leslie may say "she's just being Miley" I don't think her fans...or their parents would agree. If Miley Cyrus is already doing questionable photoshoots at age 15 imagine where she will be in a few years.
It is unfortunate that this will turn into another case of "teen star gone bad." We have seen too many incidents that involve young Hollywood stars portrayed as sexual objects, and in Miley's case, she will soon be another number. Even though Miley may not have known how the pictures would turn out, there should have been doubt in her mind from the beginning if she knew the scenery only involved her and a bed sheet. The effect of these photos will probably be much like when photos of Vanessa Hudgens, star of "High School Musical," were leaked on to the internet several months ago. Even though Miley is not naked in these photos like Vanessa was, the idea is still the same. Young teen stars should be role models for other girls their age. Posing for a picture (regardless if it is for Vanity Fair or only for private viewing) should be done with class and taste. These girls are idols for young teens everywhere, and should be an example of how a young woman should act.
I think that this whole incident is in result of Miley Cyrus trying to act like her "role models." She has seen that Paris, Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Lindsay Lohan...etc., have all done similar shoots. I think her pictures came from trying to be older than she is. Miley wants to be mature like her idols and do the things that others have done and succeeded from, however, she may seem to forget that her audience is a much, much younger crowd. Despite how older and more mature she wants to be, she needs to remember that she is young and making the wrong decisions now will affect her forever.

Personally I am sick of Miley Cyrus. I know kids love her, and I love kids, but she just seems so annoying to me.
I would have to agree with Gabe that first of all the Miley craze is getting a little old. Secondly, Vanity Fair often times has scandalous front pages, especially with a fresh famous face on the cover. Going into it, Miley's publisist should have known that putting Miley in this short of publication was bound to push the lines of her innocent persona. I blame the people making these decisions, they should have known better. She is only 15 and when she see a semi-sexy picture of herself on a magazine, she is not going to think its scandalous or what her fans may think, she is going to think how great it is she gets to be on the cover of Vanity Fair.
