Reporting intern (Lawrence, Kansas)
The position works evenings and nights. Duties include coverage of events as directed by editors, monitoring of emergency radio traffic, basic photography or video, rewriting of press releases and other user submitted content, and various other tasks. Potential openings include the summer and fall semesters.

About our company: The Journal-World is the leading media company in Lawrence and Douglas County. We operate two websites — ljworld.com and KUsports.com — which each attract 20,000 or 30,000 unique users on average day. In addition, we publish a seven-day per week morning newspaper that reaches another 10,000 to 12,000 households, on average. We are a digital first newsroom that focus on getting accurate, important and interesting information to our users in the most timely manner possible. Interns have the opportunity to be involved in everything from hard news coverage to page design to coverage of University of Kansas sporting events.
