Capturing Image
The Apple computers used in the multimedia newsroom have a still image capturing capability. This function comes in handy when you want to take a still image from video footage that you’ve shot.
Open your video in Final Cut Pro.
Display the video clip of the image that you want to capture in the Canvas window.

Use the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard to display the exact frame of your video you want to capture.
Once you’ve found the exact frame of your video that you want to capture click the shift-apple-and-4 keys all at once. This will change your arrow cursor into a crosshairs cursor.
Click-and-hold and drag the crosshairs cursor to highlight the image you want to capture. Feel free to highlight some of the extra space around the border of the image to ensure that you capture the entire image. You will be able to crop the image in Photoshop to remove that extra border space.
Once you have the area highlighted that you want to capture, simply release the mouse. A copy of your still image is now on the desktop. If you are ready to clean up your image or images move to the Send to Photoshop tutorial.
