Uploading Web Extras
Web extras are the bits and pieces of multimedia that make up an online story. These can consist of still images, videos, extended interviews, etc. No matter which type of multimedia you want to upload, it is all done the same in the TV admin system. Before you upload any web extras, be sure the file conforms to the proper naming conventions.
Web extra naming conventions - Each web extra needs a unique name. If two web extras for the same story have the same name, then the computer can’t tell them apart. So be descriptive when naming web extras. For example, if you have a picture of a baby in a car seat, name the file baby-in-car-seat.jpg. If you have a QuickTime movie of a squirrel that was fried by a transformer, name the file toasted-squirrel-in-grass.mov. The point is to name your files with unique names that describe what the file is showing.
On the site administration home page click on + Add in the Web extras field.

In the Label field give the type of multimedia you are going to upload as well as a short description of what’s in the photo. (i.e. photo, video, graph, etc.) For example, if you have an image of a cat, then your label could be Photo: Kitten. If you have an image of a dog, then your label could be Photo: Puppy

Your labeled files will show up in the sidebar of the published story page. They will look like this…

In the Media type drop-down menu select the type of media you are uploading.

In the File field select Browse and browse to the location of the saved file to select it.
In the Credit field type the name of the person that created the file.

In the Description field type a brief, one or two sentence description of the web extra. The description is used by visually impaired web surfers, to help identify the content on the page.
