Retrieve TV Scripts
If you are working as an afternoon online producer, you should be able to retrieve scripts for that nights newscast beginning around 3 p.m. As the semester progresses, afternoon online producers will need to retrieve package scripts for that nights newscast at the beginning of the shift. Afternoon online producers should have all of the scripts retrieved by the end of the shift at 4 p.m. for the evening online producer shifts.
At the beginning of the semester, every online producer should get a login for the PC’s with the NewsRoom program installed.
To retrieve NewsRoom scripts, login to one of the NewsRoom PC’s and open NewsRoom.
Click on the Cast Edit menu at the top of the screen.
Change the cast to 17:30:00.
Highlight the story that you want to print off in the cast edit window. When you single-click on a story it will turn blue. That’s how you know the story is selected.
Once you’ve selected the story hit the Print Story icon.
The Print Item dialog box will open. Make sure you print just one copy of the story and that you have all of the options as follows…
