Video Transfer
When you are finished editing your VO and SOT or your package, then you are ready to transfer the video to the control room.
With your project open in Final Cut, click anywhere in the timeline and hit Home on the keyboard. This brings the playhead to the beginning of your video. If the playhead is not at the beginning of the video, then your video will not transfer properly.
Click File -> Export

In the Format drop down menu select AVI

Click the Options button next to the Format field.

Click on the Settings button under Video

In the Compression Type drop down menu select DV/DVCPRO - NTSC

In the Compressor Quality slider, move the arrowhead to Best

Click OK in the Compression Settings dialog box.
Click OK in the AVI Settings dialgo box.
Enter the story slug as the file name. You do not want to put any spaces in the file name. If the video is a SOT, include SOT at the end of the slug. If the video is a VO include VO at the end of the slug. Be sure to leave the .avi at the end of the file name. For example, if you are working on a story with a slug of Pizza Thefts, then you’re VO should have a file name of PizzaTheftsVO.avi. The SOT should be PizzaTheftsSOT.avi. If it is a package, then the file should be PizzaTheftsPKG.avi.

Be sure that you save the file in your folder on the Video Storage drive.
When you’ve properly named your file and selected the correct folder, click Save. Exporting may take a couple minutes.
Now you need to transfer your QuickTime movie to the control room. Click on the Video Transfer icon on the desktop.
