Using an SFTP
We have Fugu installed on the newsroom computers so that you can upload and download files from your KU People space. This is an easy way for you to store and access files from multiple computers.
- Click on the Fugu icon in the dock.

- In the Connect to box type
people.ku.edu - Enter your username (your KU email username).
- In the Directory box type
public_html
- Click the Connect button.
- Enter your password (your KU email password).
- The left-side of the Fugu window displays the local computer files and folders. The right-side of the screen is your folder on the KU People server.
- Click the New Folder icon at the top of the Fugu window.
- In the New directory name box type a name for your folder (eg. storage) click the Remotely button (it should be grayed out), then Create.
- To upload files and folders from the computer to your server folder, simply drag and drop them from the left-side of the Fugu window to the storage folder on the right-side of the Fugu window.
- To download files and folder from the storage folder on the KU People server to your local computer, simply drag and frop them from the storage folder on the right-side of the Fugu window to the local computer Desktop folder on the left-side of the Fugu window.
- When you are finished, click the Disconnect button at the top of the Fugu window, the go to Fugu → Quit Fugu on the top menu.
