Cleaning Up Charts

Charts for the web are nothing more than still images, so the process for cleaning up and posting charts is similar in many ways to the process for still images from video or digital cameras.

  1. Once you have made all the adjustments you want for your chart you need to create a still image of the chart. Press shift+apple+4 on the keyboard to change your arrow cursor into the crosshairs cursor. Click and drag over your entire chart. When you let go of your mouse, an image file will be saved to your desktop.

  2. Now you need to open up Photoshop. Once in Photoshop click File -> Open and open the image file that’s saved on your desktop.

  3. Crop off any unwanted white border.

  4. Click Image -> Image Size and change the width to 600 pixels.

  5. Click Filter -> Sharpen -> Sharpen

  6. Now you’re ready to move to the Saving Charts tutorial.
