The future of news is in the hands of our generation. With so many advances in technology, it is no surprise that the news topics, media platforms and promotion of our media would be modernized. After thinking thoroughly about what we've learned in this class and applying it to the advancement of media, we came up with ideas for the future of news.
First, individuals would be able to subscribe to major news organizations of their choice such as CNN, Fox News, ABC, NBC, or MTV, etc. By subscribing and paying a fee each month, the news organizations are responsible for providing you with the news when it happens. The subscription to the companies would be directly correlated with a person's cell phone service so the news would be distributed to each person's cell phone; via text or video message explaining the most up-to-date information. It could almost be seen as the news coming to you, instead of you searching for the news.
Each partnership would run joint advertisements on TV. For example, Verizon Wireless would run an advertisement showcasing their newest phone and in that commercial they would incorporate the joint news company. It would be a way to increase competition between the other news corporations and cell phone companies,in turn increasing revenue.
Having the news at your fingertips at all times could help inform the public of important news, such as 9/11 or the Virginia Tech Shootings as soon as the information comes in. Danger could be avoided with the advancement of news distribution.
