The Future of Media is up to You

The future of media is going to be fun and exciting with new technological advancements that are going to change the face of news. People are going to become more connected without having to be connected. Wireless technology is allowing people to access information on the go without having to be plugged in. With cell phones now becoming more advanced with many different features such as internet access, these will soon be the source of our news. Paper newspapers are going to soon die out with their readers as a new generation emerges that is more adept at using all of the new technology available.
The kind of news topics that will be focused on will now come down to the individual reader. With so much news and events going on around the world along with easy access, it is going to be up to the individual to decide what he or she wants to read about. Despite having the media controlled by five or six major companies there is now a new push on citizen journalism. People are going to be more willing to ignore the mainstream news programs for a pod cast on local events, or hoping on a local blog to see what is up and coming.
The content is again up to the reader. Mainstream news programs will focus their news stories on more of a national level working with national politics and foreign policy while local news shows will slowly fade out for citizen blogs and pod casts. Sadly, celebrities will continue to grace us in the news whether we like it or not, its like a car crash, we don't want to watch them burn up but we can't turn away.
As for marketing and PR, they are going to push their projects with little ads and streamers that will show up with new messages or while you are surfing the web. New technology is going to start pairing up your interests based on the sites you visit with products that you would potentially want to purchase. Ad companies are going to start getting creative with mini ads that designed for a cell phone screen.
The news is now being controlled by the individual and what that individual chooses to seek out and read about. With new mobile technology along with the internet the media is now, more than ever before, controlled by the consumer.
