I figured that going “media free” on Sunday morning until Monday morning would be a difficult task but a due able one. However, this task was a bit more challenging then anticipated.
I woke up at 10am by myself since I was not able to use the alarm on my cellular phone to wake me up. However, when I went into my room it said 11am because my regular clock did not automatically change like cellular phone do for daylight savings time. At 1pm I was suppose to have a meeting for my council position in my sorority. I got ready and went to where we normally have the meetings but not one was there. I waited for about thirty minutes to find out that the meeting had been moved and they sent us an email to let us know.
After that, I wrote my paper for my 244 Communications class. It was nice because I was actually able to get my paper done in a timely manner because I did not have the distraction of getting on Facebook whenever I got bored with my paper.
Since we live in media filled society, it makes it difficult to be “media free.” It seems almost impossible to manage one day with out the use of your cell phone or the Internet. It was not until the next day when I checked my messages that I had realized how much I missed. Not to mention the numerous calls missed from my parents trying to plan my birthday dinner.
