Fix This Arby's Parking Lot

finalwebprojectjour.jpg

When trying to grab a fast meal at the Arby’s Restaurant at 1533 West 23rd Street, you may run into something more than a long line at lunch. Right by the entrance to the parking lot, there lies a medium sized pothole. Some people have complained about the pothole including Kansas City sophomore, Tim Gershon "This pothole has been here since I came in August" Tim told me. "I’m more careful especially when the parking lot is busy".

Trying to maneuver over or around the pothole during a busy day in this parking lot that also has other restaurants and stores, a car could get into an accident with another vehicle if they are not too careful.

It was difficult to get a manager to talk to me about the problem and took me several calls to the store at 785-843-3228, because many did not want to talk about it. A manager at the store who did not want her name listed told me that the pothole problem in the parking is fixed during the winter when it is of more danger. "The company that fixes the potholes is a private company" and that the pothole that I was speaking of is “already on order to be fixed in the next month."

Hopefully this winter when this problem could potentially get worse with snow and ice on our forecast, the pothole will be fixed and you can enjoy a hot Roast Beef sandwich without hassle.

Dani Fehr:

I've noticed this pothole too and I think it's kind of funny how this bump (hole!) in the road takes away from the general idea of "fast food". Also, I found the quote from the manager ironic; especially since she said that the pothole would be fixed in the winter when it is of "more danger", when realistically potholes are always a danger to drivers and their vehicles.
