Fix the parking lot at Hawks Pointe

holeatapartment%20400x300.jpg

LAWRENCE,Kan- Holes and cracks in the parking lots and missing chunks out of sidewalks. That is want to parking lot and sidewalks to part of the Hawks Pointe I apartments located at 7th and Florida look like.

These problems are not only by my apartment complex but others and the parking lots down by
the office for Hawks Pointe is smoothly paved and looks brand new, but not at the apartments
up on the hill where the apartments are. I mean I personally have to watch out every time
I'm walking around outside my apartment to make sure I don't trip and fall because of
missing chunks in sidewalks or potholes in the parking lot. These things easily can be see
has dangerous because someone could seriously hurt themselves if the trip or fall in the
holes. I have actually personally experienced this myself when coming back form doing
laundry I could not see the hole in front of me and I fell in it, while I did not hurt
myself I could have. I have also seen a few other people trip and fall because of the
sidewalk problems.

Another problem that is caused by at least the potholes and crack pavement in the parking
lots is it causes wear and tear on your car. While residents try to avoid the main holes it
is hard sometimes and you just bounce up and down scraping your car against the pavement.

When calling to report the problems that I have found, I called the Hawks Pointe I apartment
office. I reached one of the students who work in the office and told them what I the
problem was and all they said was they would write it down and report it for me. The number
for the Hawks Pointe office is 785-841-5255.

Katy Blair:

I think it is good you pointed this out. I lived in Lawrence for four years, and the potholes and huge cracks were so unsightly. I drive a large truck, so every time I hit a pothole, I feel like my transmission is dropping out! And I've tripped, so many times. I hope they fix this, Lawrence needs to get on the ball where all these damaged roads and lots are concerned.
