Revolutionary Fundraising on Facebook

First you get an idea, say a party to celebrate Halloween, then you realize you had no funds to support this celebration; this can be an often experienced problem for college students across the land.

For the college students who use Facebook, a social networking website, their problem is solved. ChipIn, a fundraising application, allows the Facebook user to create an event and then easily raise funds to support their cause. Anything from Cancer Awareness to football tailgating can be fundraised. It is a simple application to comprehend; first you create an event or cause, set an amount you want raised, and then publish. You friends upon noticing the newly created event have a choice to donate funds in any amount they want by simply clicking a button. The money goes straight into your account and your fundraising begins.

ChipIn is helping the Facebook demographic, primarily college students, raise funds for causes they care about in a simple, less time consuming fashion than more traditional fundraising. The application is helping in a more effective way than traditional fundraising, though fairly new with twenty-eight daily users, ChipIn proves to be a more accessible, non-cost option for Facebook users. ChipIn allows door-to-door fundraising to be a way of the past.
