Not So Amazin' Mets

On Monday, October 1, the page for the New York Mets on Wikipedia stated that the Mets "are currently tied with the Philadelphia Phillies for first place in the NL East going into the final game of the regular season."

This information is outdated. According to ESPN and the Associated Press, the New York Metropolitans went down 8-1 to the Florida Marlins on Sunday night. This allowed the Phillies to win the NL East by one game when they beat the Washington Nationals the same night.

Our group thinks this demonstrates how inaccurate Wikipedia can be when dealing with sports statistics. If this page is being edited solely by Mets fans, for instance, they would have no interest in getting on Wikipedia as soon as the game ends to update this page.
