Love Your Neighbor

Love Your Neighbor is a group on Facebook that supports the website The Hunger Site which is a website that is trying to prevent world hunger. On the website, it tells people that clicking on the orange sign that says “Click here to give” one time, the website contributes 1.1 cups of food to the hungry.

On the bottom of the website, they display a chart that shows how many cups of food have been donated to the hungry for the past seven days. Above it, there’s a link that says “results page” and that gives a descriptive account. It not only shows how many clicks they received for the month, but it gives the number of cups of food and how many pounds of food have been given to the hungry for the month and by the year dating back to 1999.

The Facebook group has photos of starving children to get the effect that this issue is relevant. Also the site has the feature for its member to invite their friends to join the group and members can write on the wall feature as a way for members to write comments about their experiences going on the website. Another thing that makes this effective is that they emphasize how it doesn’t cost a cent for people to help. As college students money is hard to come by and its good to know that there is a way to help out a cause that wont costing us at all.
