Is In World News Useful?

With the many various virtual worlds there are, now new ways for companies and clients to send and receive information and news to people from around the world. Second Life, an online based virtual reality "world" has opened a new door to the ever growing demand for companies to access "untapped" clientele. In this second world some 9 million users are registered to this site, so car companies, businesses, news agencies and many other various companies have joined the "world". The question arises, how trustworthy or reliable is the news and information on this "world". BBC, Reuters, Acura, Scion and Georgio Armani have all jumped on the band wagon to target these 9 million consumers. In a interview on SLNC Second Life’s news network, user 57 Miles discussed, that the news that is on the site is news, whether or not its in world or our world, its still news. With this advance in technology people from around the world can communicate together via internet. News from America can be shown in all the countries across the world simultaneously. American business can meet via Second Life and discuss business matters with out long distance phone calls or expensive company flights. For the first time where there is internet, people can communicate, work, teach and even play together all across the globe.
