In World Journalism

In world news can be viewed as necessary and also unnecessary. While I really don't spend
to much of my time in applications like Secondlife I think the in-world news is necessary
because technology is advancing in many ways and we as journalists don't know if things like
Secondlife will take off or not. So learning how to report the news in-world and reporting
will just help journalists with their careers.

Also another reason reporting news in-world can be seen as necessary is that the in-world
crowd is usually a certain audience group and if you report things to them they will be
informed of news just like anyone else. But some people will say that the in-world stuff is
not important and focus should be on the real world news convey in conventional methods
to them. While I agree the focus should be on the real world the conveying of real world
news through the Secondlife media and others might be the only way for some people to hear
about the news or maybe just the best way for them to get the news.

There are definitely challenges in reporting in-world stories, like some examples scouring,
the creditability and finding of sources. Also the fact of just finding stories that will
be appealing to your audience. But while there is some disadvantages there is some
advantages like news can be spread more rapidly with communication between people around
the world.

While I don't necessarily agree that this is necessary at least to me. I believe that the
technology will only continue to expand so capitalizing on reporting in it know is the best
thing to do.
