Rock Chalk, Bye Bye Jayhawk?

LAWRENCE, KS- Representatives for the Animal Outreach of Kansas University recently protested on the University Of Kansas Lawrence campus outside the Memorial Union. A spokesperson for the non-profit organization told reporters that they were protesting in response to a new finding of Jayhawk birds in the Galapagos Islands.
The birds who were once thought to be a make believe creature are in fact living today and close to extinction. The organization is asking administration of the University to consider a new mascot for the University Of Kansas in respect for the birds.
"We never knew that there would be such an outcry to get rid of a mascot that we thought never existed."-Dennis Constance President of Support Staff Senate told reporters Monday.
The University is now vetoing a loch ness monster, sasquatches, and flying dragons to prevent future complications for the University.
