By now we’ve all heard that Atlanta Falcon Michael Vick has been charged with federal dog fighting and conspiracy charges.
Vick, who agreed to plead guilty to the charges, will most likely be sentenced to at least one year in prison, with a maximum sentence of five years.
However, what has not yet been widely reported is the fight ring Vick plans to set up behind bars. Vick has been in talks with current inmates, and a system is “in the works.”
With the exception of Vick, who as the ringleader of the operation is exempt, the fighters will consist of the most recently incarcerated. Fighters will have to work their way up in rank, unless of course, they are killed in their first round.
Vick’s bookie will be on site during visiting hours daily, to take bets on the fighters. All bets made on the inside will be placed in cigarettes and porn, in order for Vick to avoid a second gambling charge.
When asked about the prison fighting ring following a recent court appearance Vick appeared offended saying, “Me? Do I seem like the type of guy to do anything illegal?” When the reporter questioning Vick reminded him that they were currently on the steps outside of the courthouse where he had just pled guilty to felony charges Vick simply stated, "No comment."
Ten minutes later as Vick was entering his limo to leave the courthouse he was overheard on his cell phone requesting thirty-five cartons of Marlboros and eighteen subscriptions to Playboy. Hmmm… that was probably just a coincidence.
