Richmond, Va. - After pleading guilty to a federal dog fighting conspiracy charge in a court appearance on Monday, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick admitted to the press that what he did was “immature.” According to Vick’s written plea he admitted helping to kill six to eight pit bulls and supplying money for gambling on the fights. Trying to explain his involvement with this very bad behavior, Vick offers "What I did was immature and I need to grow up,". U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson, who is hearing Vick’s case, told the media that he would take Vicks admission of immaturity into account when sentencing Vick for the death of six to eight pit bulls, “What we have here is a man who didn’t know that animal brutality, let alone starving, torturing, forcing combat, and killing any number of dogs…is a bad thing….America believes in a fair justice system.” When asked what punishment he thinks Vick will receive, Hudson claims that the sentencing should be appropriate for someone who needs a lesson in maturity. “When my son egged our neighbors house last year that was very immature…he went to bed without dinner for 3 days and it really taught him to grow up… I believe something like that is appropriate for Vick.”
