Gonzales Resigns on Bush Vacation

Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales, visited President George Bush this weekend on his vacation in Crawford, Texas to officially give his resignation letter.

Gonzales was shocked and surprised that Bush was actually taking another vacation, and proceeded down there to have lunch and chat.

Bush responded to Gonzales's resignation by saying "I sure wish you wouldn't resign, but I really wish you would have waited until my vaca was over. I don't like to mix work with play."

Bush spoke out in Texas to praise Gonazales saying that the attorney general had endured "unfair treatment that has created harmful distraction at the Justice Department."

Neither Bush nor Gonzales answered questions from reporters, but Bush has stated that maybe "Gonzales needed even more vacation time to relieve stress in order to do his duties better."
