WASHINGTON DC--President Bush spoke before congress today to ask for their support on his Disneyland proposal. Bush inquired congress to support his idea and his 100 million dollar budget in hopes that the new Disneyland in Sulaimaniyah, Iraq will help raise moral and provide a safe outlet for the children there. Bush argued that while the United States has declared a war on terror, they have not declared a war on childhood dreams and therefore should have no problem supporting his new proposal. Reflecting on his own experience Bush spoke to congress about the fine memories he and his family shared there. “It’s important for children, no matter their location, to follow their Disneyland dreams to a place where storybook fantasy comes to life,” said Bush.
Bush along with John E. Pepper Jr, Disney Chairman, Robert Iger, Disney CEO, and Andy Bird, head of Walt Disney International, plan on meeting this week in Orlando, FL to discuss ground breaking dates. “The new park will be designed similar to that of Disney land in that it will have hotels, spas, outdoor retail, dinning and entertainment, a Disney fairytale wedding chapel, amusement rides, Mickey and friends parking structure and will also include Disney’s College Program which will provide internships for students ages 18-24,” said Iger.
While the new park will be architecturally designed to fit that of Iraqi architecture Bird is optimistic that the design team will not lose sight of the overall magical theme that Disney prides itself on. “I am confident that this Disneyland resort will be as successful if not more successful than those in Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo,” said Bird.
