Daily Kansan Wii article?

I was just wondering if anyone else read the Daily Kansan today http://www.kansan.com/stories/2007/mar/13/wii/?news (sorry i don't know how to insert this right) which made a story about people who ingured themselves playing nintendo's wii front page . Reading this article, as humerous as it was, waisted a good 3 minutes of my life that i will never get back. I mean is there really nothing else more newsworthy to make the front page then stupidity. I know i sound like my mother right now but i just thought that it was pretty worthless. Then i read the opinion section which featured an article written by a girl who stated lawrence wasn't very safe becasue once her and her friends left their purses on the bar at Brothers to come back and find that they had been stolen. Shocker! Maybe she could have used the example of the armed masked intruder who broke into the hawker last week. Just an idea.

Well, I feel like that news is definitely not front-page-worthy, but still something amusing that people may want to know. It definitely fits in a magazine, or internet newsblog, every story, stupid or important, has it's place, they just never seem to be in the right places.

Seriously jackie, the front page should just be drink specials if you ask me. Kidding, i completely know what you are saying. However like we have talked about in class, there are people who believe that video games are a much more important than real world issues. Sad, but true. And yes, this is coming from someone who reads celebrity gossip everyday. Im not as much as a religious reader of the UDK as I used to be freshman year..and maybe the point you are making is exactly why.

With regards to the girl who wrote about Lawrence not being a safe place in the oppinion section of the Kansan: I work at The finest drinking establishment in Lawrence "It's Brothers", and I'm pretty sure that she probably stumbled home in a drunken mess with her purse and ate it because pizza shuttle wasn't open!!

Kayvon Sarraf:

Lauren, you should read the Kansas more often. There are some outstanding columns in there, especially in the sports section on, say, Wednesdays.
