Since I'm a "googler" as Prof. Benson would call me, I googled what images of youth culture might look like. I had some predictions, none of which were right. I did, although, find something that has awakened me to how important this whole youth culture thing actually is.
The idea of a teenager is a really big deal. It should have it's own facebook group, seriously. It's a huge movement that took place in the sixties when the 70 million baby boomers grew boobs and pubes. Youth changed the way Americans were living. The youth dominated whole industires such as fashion and toys.
Can you imagine where we would be today if youth culture hadn't evolved the way it did? What do you think we'd be doing or wearing without this phenomenon?

That being said- I would like to know what some of you think about the invention of the "teenager." If someone asked you to describe what youth culture looked like today or when it started, what would you say?
