Faculty Mentoring

All undergraduate journalism students are strongly encouraged to identify at least one faculty mentor within the school. This may be a professor you had for a class, someone whose research matches your interests, or who has worked in an industry that excites you. Your advisor can help you identify a faculty mentor. Faculty mentors provide guidance as you build your portfolio, search for internships and jobs and make professional connections. They are an invaluable part of your team in the J-School.
