The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce is seeking a full-time Department Coordinator to assist its Civic and Community Initiatives Department. The Department Coordinator will support the KC Chamber's work in: education, regional health and wellness, transportation, entrepreneurship, the arts, and urban redevelopment, among others. Additionally, the Department Coordinator will spend a significant portion of his/her time assisting with the implementation and operation of the KC Chamber's Centurions Leadership Program, a 2-year program that explores the opportunities and issues of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone launching their career who is seeking experience in a variety of fields. The successful candidate will have strong writing, speaking and interpersonal skills. He/she will be comfortable representing the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce in a variety of professional settings. He/she will be organized and adept at handling a wide variety of projects simultaneously.

Job duties and responsibilities
• Support department personnel, programs and committees

• Help direct members and community partners to correct points of contact

• Schedule and staff meetings

• Correspond with KC Chamber members and community partners

• Assist in event planning and execution for department activities and programs

• Share reception duties for KC Chamber members and guests, including incoming phone calls

• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree or higher

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
