Copy editing intern (Lawrence, Kansas)
The position works evenings and nights. Duties include preparing copy for publication, updating of websites, basic page design, rewrites on press releases and other user submitted copy, management of our calendar of events section and various other tasks. Potential openings include for the summer and fall semesters.

About our company: The Journal-World is the leading media company in Lawrence and Douglas County. We operate two websites — ljworld.com and KUsports.com — which each attract 20,000 to 30,000 unique users on an average day. In addition, we publish a seven-day per week morning newspaper that reaches another 10,000 to 12,000 households, on average. We are a digital first newsroom that focuses on getting accurate, important and interesting information to our users in the most timely manner possible. Interns have the opportunity to be involved in everything from hard news coverage to page design to coverage of University of Kansas sporting events.
