Who said setting up a blog was easy?

I spent more time today switching back and forth between a terminal window, FireFox, Safari and the Server Admin than I ever want to again. Don't get me wrong, I love geeky tech stuff - there's nothing like a black screen with green type (my default settings of choice for Terminal). It makes me feel like I really know something... which I do... sorta. But I don't do this kind of stuff enough anymore to consider myself knowledgable enough to be editing the kind of files I was editing today. I could bring the server down with one typo. I have to constantly remind myself that I'm not dealing with highly sensitive or critical production data. Besides, I backed up everything on Friday.

Today, I was lucky. I didn't bring the server down, but I didn't fix our WordPress permalinks problem either. It took a true geek about five minutes to figure it out and fix it. Thank you hubby, I owe you one.
